Compared with complete gastric bypass surgery, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) has become more popular because of its reversibility and association with a shortened hospital course and fewer complications.2 Complications from LAGB are typically device-related; however, recent reports of pseudoachalasia have surfaced.
